Knockando Woollen Mill
ACT is working with the Knockando Woolmill Trust to help preserve the A-listed 18th century wool mill buildings featured on the BBC Restoration Series in 2004 http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/programmes/restoration/2004/scotland_knockando_wool_mill_01.shtml
The Trust aims to restore all the woolmill buildings to enable textile production to continue and the traditional craft skills to be passed onto future generations through training and education programmes. Once work is complete, visitors will be able to explore the mill complex for the first time, experiencing textile production from "Baa to Blanket", viewing the interpretation, enjoying some light refreshments, and being able to purchase a blanket from the shop.

The Trust has recently submitted a stage 1 application to the Heritage Lottery Fund and will be applying through Moray Council to the European Regional Development Fund in the new year. An indicative offer of funding has already been received from Historic Scotland. The Heritage Lottery Fund confirmed in their letter of 10 March 2008 their offer of a grant of £1.3 million for the mill plus an additional £120,000 for development funding.
| However, in order for this project to succeed the Trust still requires to raise an additional £550,000 from individual donations and charitable trusts.
