Volunteers
We have had an amazing response to our request for volunteers - especially via the Volunteer Edinburgh Website.
We commenced with Volunteers in September/October 2008 and welcomed: David, Morey, Annie, Gavin, Samantha and Alice as Volunteer Administration Assistants. Later we have been pleased to welcome: Kathy, Sally, Elefetheria and Franziska as Research Assistants, plus Owen as our Volunteer Fund Raising Assistant. In February 2009 they were joined byTricia. Hopefully they will enjoy the time they are spending with us.
Subsequently during March/April 2009 four of our volunteers have found new jobs and we wish Eleftheria, Franziska, Owen and Tricia well for the future in their new posts. Morey undertook some courses in Word and Excel and will be awarded certificates on successful completion - he subsequently secured a new voluntary position with the Council.
Then in May 2009 we were joined by Cheryl. In mid September, following Fife Doors Open Day - Cheryl returned to College and we thank her for her assistance over past 4 months - it was greatly appreciated and we hope that her studies go well. Alice is now joining us part-time for a partcular data collection project.
Alicia joined us in October 2009 and is helping us with our general administration and research tasks. Amy and Fraser, subsequently joined us in Late October 2009 and are assisting us with research for our Building Preservation Trust Review and with a variety of research in connection with the Hainning, The Porthouse and Leith Theatre Projects. In December, Alicia managed to secure a job in Switzerland - which I am sure she is enjoying immensly. Subsequently, Amy has taken on a three month paid post with an Architects Firm in Glasgow (commencing Mid February) - we wish her well and will be delighted to see her back in the future. Kirsten will be joining us Mid February to work on Research for Laws' Close in Kirkcaldy.
Do you have some spare time - would you be able to assist our Charity a few hours a week - at our office in North Castle Street- if you are interested - please do get in touch We have an opening for a further Volunteers - in a variety of roles - Administration Assistant, Filing Assistant and Research Assistant.
