Please Help Save Greenlaw Town Hall
In June 2009 the Trust has been awarded a Building Repairs Grant from Historic Scotland towards Greenlaw Town Hall, Greenlaw, Berwickshire of £500,000. The grant award from Historic Scotland is the postive seal of approval needed to take the project development forward. In addition, a further £475,000 has been formally offered by the European Regional Development Fund for the Office Units within the building.
Earlier in May 2009 Viridor Credits Scotland awarded us £30,000, together with earlier generous donations from individuals (amounting to some £75,000) , Scottish Borders Council, the Monument Trust and the proceeds of the sale of land from a private Landowner to the Berwickshire Housing Association to help create affordable housing - means that the Project to save Greenlaw Town Hall is going ahead. The project started on site on Monday 29th June 2009. We would like to offer our deepest thanks to all the grant bodies, local landowners, businesses, villagers and general donors for all their support to date. However, we still have a shortfall of £95,000 and urge you to offer your support towards the project - either by Sponsoring a Stone, buying a T Shirt, Shopper Bag, Pen or Postcard - or simply sending us a donation - you help is greatly appreciated.
